Our vision at Sound Storm is to help 25,000 children with Auditory Processing Disorders by 2025
Our plan is to connect with parents and guardians to raise awareness of the effects of APDs in school age children. Early intervention can help improve their lives and help them reach their full potential.
Once connected, our goal is to guide them toward knowledgeable, trained, APD specialists, like yourself.
As audiologists, you are pivotal in helping Sound Storm reach our “25 x 25” vision. So we’d like to give you something in return.
As part of our ongoing commitment to the audiology community we have created a partnership with the HEARing Cooperative Research Centre (CRC)*, that enables us to get you the latest version of the Sound Storm application to use in your clinic at zero cost. (RRP AUD$280.00 – Note: For review and demonstration purposes)
If you would like to learn more about Sound Storm, how it works and be part of this program, we encourage you to participate in a one-hour training module (AUD$44.95) developed by HEARing CRC, on APDs, Spatial Processing Disorder and the Sound Storm remediation program. (Please note: All proceeds go to the HEARing CRC, which supports research into education about hearing loss and hearing health.)
Access to the the training module:HEARnetlearning.org.au
HEARing CRC is a multidisciplinary collaboration of 21 Members, each of which contributes specific expertise and infrastructure to research, commercialisation and education programs. It has offices at the University of Melbourne’s Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology, and the Australian Hearing Hub, Sydney.
To help parents/guardians of children who may suffer from APDs find audiologists who can diagnose these disorders, we have created a “Find an Audiologist” section within the “For Parents & Guardians” area of the site.
If you are a specialist in this area and would like to be featured in the “Find an Audiologist” directory, simply contact us with your details.
We’ve created a beautiful Sound Storm poster that you can hang in your clinic and provide you with accompanying Parent/Guardian information booklets (DL size). These can be shared with those who might benefit from understanding Spatial Processing Disorder and its remediation via the Sound Storm program.
